Youth Ministry
Mission / Purpose
To provide a safe and positive place for youth to hang out and obtain the necessary skills and training needed in order to mature, and to discover God’s purpose for their life.
The staff and volunteers minister to the total individual:
- Physically by providing opportunities for entertainment, exercise and service.
- Emotionally by offering a safe and positive place to meet and develop healthy relationships and find help for unhealthy ones.
- Intellectually by assisting youth with supplemental educational resources and encouraging them to take full advantage of educational and employment opportunities.
- Spiritually by demonstrating Godly principles for living fulfilled lives and by providing opportunities to reach their full potential in Christ.
What about God and Religion?
We are a faith based outreach and we do not “Bible-thump” nor do we proselytize any youth or their families. We reserve the right to accept everyone from every faith and religion here at Straight Street NRV.
We work with other agencies, businesses, organizations & clubs for the benefit of our youth and families.

HOW TO HELP
How To Get Involved & Help
- Volunteers are always needed for a variety of positions. This is the most rewarding thing a person can do is give of their time to invest into another person, especially a young person.
- Financial support is always needed and much appreciated! We are a not-for-profit organization and supported by gifts, donations and offerings from people who are concerned about today’s youth.
- Items to donate? We are always in need of particular items that can be used at the center (game stations & games, sports equipment, supplies, cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, etc.)
- Referring people to us and sharing about us to others and helping us to make connections with others who are able and willing to help us in every area of our outreach.
- By far the MOST IMPORTANT need is your PRAYER support. We are located in several cities across the U.S. Without fervent prayer for those of us in the front- line ministries, we know our effectiveness would quickly diminish. Thank you for remembering us.
WHAT WE DO
What is Straight Street NRV?
It is a youth center designed especially for today’s young people. We know that the youth in our area do not have a place to hang out. Straight Street is full of excitement, unconditional love and acceptance. We strive to provide a positive atmosphere free from any foul or nasty language, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, vaping and bullying. Our leaders are always available to listen to them about anything and even willing to help if possible. We are always there for them when they feel like nobody else cares.
What is there to do here?
There is basketball, other outdoor sports, pool tables, air hockey, foosball, board games, arcade games and game stations, (X-Box 360, X-Box One, PS3 & 4). We also have a snack counter stocked with a variety of food and drinks.
What else is there to do?
We have live events such as: drama teams, guest speakers, concerts (variety of styles), and on slow nights, we just like to sit and talk with the youth.
On most nights we’ll do Straight Talks. These are designed to cover important real life issues that today’s youth face daily.
